Global Summit Nanotechnology for a Healthier and Sustainable Future

The 2022 Global Summit is focused on UN SDG#3 Good Health and Well-being. It is a small but important step towards achieving the larger ambitious vision of creating a world free of hunger, poverty, and disease where all life can thrive. The Global Summit will raise awareness and support capacity-building for the UN SDGs and their related thematic issues. Nanotechnology is a powerful tool that can be utilized to create a sustainable, healthy and prosperous future. Through this Global Summit we hope all attendees will appreciate the opportunities that nanotechnology can provide along with understanding its limitations so that they can be addressed. The Global Summit will bring together people from all over the world who are interested in improving global health in terms of nanotechnology, sustainability, digital health, and equity, diversity & inclusion (ED&I).

About the International Netwerk for Sustainable Nanotechnology

The International Network for Sustainable Nanotechnology (N4SNano) is a consortium of leading organizations in the field of nanotechnology representing institutes, universities, non-profit and governmental agencies. It was established in 2020 by 4 partner institutions: the University of Twente (Mesa+ Institute), The University of Sydney Nano Institute, the University of California Los Angeles, and the Waterloo Institute for Nanotechnology (WIN). The Japan Science and Technology Agency is the inaugural supporting member of the network. The mission of N4SNano is to promote discovery and advancements in nanotechnology and applications as key mechanisms for sustainability – specifically to create positive and impactful solutions to society in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs). In addition, the N4SNano will connect global leaders of nanotechnology and sustainability to collaborate and advocate for the safe use of nanotechnology. Each year the network will organize a Global Summit addressing one or more of the UN SDGs.
